These apply to RPrealm, the app. See also the Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
RPrealm is made by Faelore Studios ("we", "us"). We decide how your information is used in RPrealm (we are the "controller").
Contact: support@faelorestudios.com, or Me → Support → Send feedback in the app.
The short version:
- RPrealm is for adults (18+) only.
- Your chats are sent to AI providers so they can write the replies. We name them below.
- We don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and we don't use your chats to train AI unless you turn that on yourself.
- You can delete a chat, your training data, or your whole account at any time.
2. What we collect
Account and profile
- Your email address and password (the password is stored hashed by our hosting provider; we never see it).
- Your date of birth, the result of the 18+ check, and a record of any later changes to your date of birth.
- Your display name, optional @handle, optional avatar, and your app settings (such as theme, colours and default content level).
What you create
- Your chats: your turns, the AI's replies, edits, regenerations, private thoughts, pinned facts, and the story memory the app keeps for each chat (who knows what, standing limits, lore as it stood).
- Your characters, personas and realms: names, portraits, bios, personalities, voices, starting situations, opening lines, tags, lore and places.
- What you write in shared realm places, which other players there can see.
- Portraits you generate: the description sent to the image model, and the image.
What you send us
- Break reports ("this reply broke something") and "felt off" marks, with the lines of the chat around them.
- Feedback (bug, idea, felt off), with an optional screenshot and context the app adds: app version and build, the screen, the chat or realm, and the AI model in use.
- Reports about other users or their content, with a snapshot of the reported content, and your block list.
- Emails you send to support.
Technical information
- Information our hosting provider processes when the app talks to our servers, such as IP address, device and app version, timestamps and error logs.
- How much you use RPrealm (for example the number of messages), so we can run limits and understand costs.
What we don't collect
- We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics in the app, and we don't collect your location, contacts or photos (other than a screenshot you choose to attach to feedback).
3. Why we use it
- To run RPrealm for you: your account, chats, characters, realms and portraits.
- To write, check and remember replies: your chat, the characters and lore are sent to AI providers (section 4) for each turn.
- To keep RPrealm for adults only: your date of birth and the 18+ check.
- To keep people safe: reviewing public characters before they're published, handling reports and blocks, enforcing the Terms, and preventing abuse.
- To fix problems and improve RPrealm: break reports, feedback, and the 30-day copy of deleted chats.
- To train and test our own models, only if you opt in (section 6).
- To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
Sensitive information. Roleplay chats can reveal things about your sex life, sexual orientation, health or beliefs. We use what you write only to provide RPrealm as described here.
4. AI providers and other service providers
Each time you send a turn, the parts of your chat needed to write the reply (your message, recent history, the characters, the lore and the story memory, and your persona's name) are sent to one or more of these AI providers. They return the reply, a check on the reply, or an update to the story memory.
- OpenAI (GPT-6 Luna): writes most replies by default, checks replies for problems, and reviews public characters.
- Anthropic (Claude models, including Claude Haiku): keeps each chat's story memory, and writes or checks a reply when the default model fails. Some chats may use other Claude models.
- OpenRouter: routes requests to open models, such as Google's Gemma, when that model is picked for a chat. OpenRouter passes your request to the company that hosts the model.
- Google (Gemini image model): generates character portraits from the description you give.
- Supabase: hosts our database, sign-in, file storage and server code. Your account and everything you create are stored there.
We use these providers' paid business services. Under their terms as we understand them, they process your content to provide the service to us and don't use it to train their own models, but they may keep it for a limited time for abuse monitoring.
The models we use change over time. We will keep this list up to date.
We also share information:
- with a person at Faelore Studios, when a public character needs a human look or something has been reported;
- when the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety, including reporting child sexual abuse material to the authorities;
- with a buyer or successor if the business is sold or reorganised, under this policy.
We don't sell your personal information and we don't "share" it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
5. How long we keep it
- Chats, characters, personas and realms are kept until you delete them or your account.
- A deleted chat disappears for you straight away. A hidden copy is kept for 30 days to fix problems and count usage, then it is deleted for good automatically. You can ask us to delete that copy sooner.
- Break reports and feedback are kept, with the lines around them, to improve replies, after you delete the chat they came from. They are deleted when you delete your account, or sooner if you ask.
- Reports you make about others are kept for moderation records and deleted when you delete your account. Reports others make about you, with their snapshot of the content, are kept after you delete your account, without a link to your account, so we keep a record of safety decisions.
- Date-of-birth records are kept until you delete your account.
- Optional training data: see section 6.
- Deleting your account (Me → Delete account) removes everything above at once, with no 30-day copy, except reports others made about you as described above. Copies may remain in our hosting provider's encrypted backups for a short period before they are overwritten.
- Public characters you made stop being shown when you delete them or your account. Other users' existing chats with that character may keep their own copy of what was said.
6. Optional: "Help improve RPrealm" (training data)
This is off unless you turn it on. Only adults who passed the 18+ check can turn it on. It is being tested with a small group first and may not be offered to you yet.
Two separate settings, each off by default:
- Checker data: we store your messages and the replies in your chats, plus any labels you add, to train and test RPrealm's quality checks (the part that spots replies that break your story's rules).
- Whole conversations: we store your messages, the replies, and what you changed (regenerated or edited), to train and test the models that write RPrealm's replies.
What's stored: for each AI turn, your message and the recent history, the lore, the characters' cards and rules, the story memory, the reply's first draft and final version, the results of our checks, what you did with the reply (regenerated, edited, marked as off, reported, continued), and technical details such as the models used and the app version. The writer's own instructions are stored only for "Whole conversations".
Scrubbing: before anything is stored, we remove email addresses, phone numbers, links and @handles, and replace your display name, handle and email, and your persona's name. We check again before any data is used, and refuse anything that still contains these. Fiction is left as it is, so don't put real personal details in your stories.
Characters: only turns whose characters are all your own original or public-domain characters can be used for training. Other users' characters and fan characters are left out.
How long: up to 5,000 turns per person. Turns you haven't labelled are deleted after 180 days. Turns you have labelled are kept until you turn the setting off, delete them, or delete your account.
Turning it off deletes it: turning a setting off removes your data from that set straight away; turning both off deletes all of it. "Delete my training data" deletes all of it at any time, and deleting your account does too. Data already used in a model that was trained before you turned it off can't be pulled back out of that model.
Who uses it: only Faelore Studios and its service providers, to train and test RPrealm's own models. It is never sold.
No reward or locked feature depends on turning this on, and turning it off is as easy as turning it on. If we change this wording, we will ask you again.
7. Public characters, handles and shared realms
- If you make a character public, other adults on RPrealm can see its card (name, portrait, bio, personality, voice, start, opening line and tags) and your @handle, and chat with it.
- Public characters are reviewed by an AI (and, for unclear cases, a person at Faelore Studios) before they are shown. The review sees the card's text.
- What you write in a shared realm place is visible to the other players there.
- Portrait images are stored so that anyone with the image's web address can load it, even for private characters. Don't put anything private in a portrait.
8. Adults only
RPrealm is not for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we block it and delete its data. If you think a child is using RPrealm, report it in the app or email us.
9. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can:
- see and change most of your information in the app (profile, characters, personas, realms, chats, settings);
- delete a chat, your training data, or your whole account in the app;
- ask for a copy of your information by emailing us (there is no in-app export yet);
- ask us to delete anything else, such as the 30-day copy of a deleted chat, a break report or feedback;
- withdraw consent to training data at any time, in the app.
We answer requests within 30 days. We may need to confirm it's you, for example by asking you to write from your account's email. We won't treat you differently for using your rights.
EU, EEA and UK. You also have the right to object to our use based on legitimate interests, to restrict it, to data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
California and other US states. You have the right to know what we collect and why, to access, correct and delete it, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and the use of sensitive personal information beyond what's needed. We don't sell or share personal information, and we use sensitive information only to provide RPrealm. You can use an authorised agent. The categories we collect are: identifiers (email, handle), personal characteristics (date of birth), user content (chats and creations, which may include sensitive information), internet activity (usage and logs), and inferences only within your stories.
10. Security
- Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with our hosting provider, with access controls so you can only reach your own private data.
- Only a small number of people at Faelore Studios can access stored data, and only to run, fix and keep RPrealm safe.
- Server keys and passwords are kept out of the app.
- No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
11. International transfers
Faelore Studios and our providers process data in the United States and possibly other countries, which may have different data protection laws from yours.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version string at the top changes when we do. For a material change we will tell you in the app before it takes effect and, where the law requires, ask for your consent again (always for changes to the training data settings).
13. Contact
- Email: support@faelorestudios.com
